Bellaire and West University Place are two small cities with Houston all around them, and families in both tend to travel a lot, whether for school breaks, work trips or visits to relatives. If you need dog boarding near Bellaire or West U, Pawliday Inn is south of you in southwest Houston, on Cedarhurst Dr. Your dog gets a staffed overnight stay with meals, potty breaks and yard play, and you get a drop-off that doesn't involve crossing the whole city on the way to the airport.
What's different about boarding from Bellaire and West U
Your neighbors are probably away when you are
Both cities are full of families on school calendars. When Thanksgiving, winter break, spring break and the start of summer roll around, the neighbor who usually feeds your dog may be on the same flight you are. That's often when families start looking at boarding instead of relying on favors.
Holiday stays have their own rules, including a longer seven-day cancellation window and a deposit for the full stay. Read our guide to booking holiday dog boarding early before you book flights.
Small lots, close neighbors
Homes in West U and Bellaire often sit close together, and yards can be small, especially where a new, larger house has replaced an older one. A dog left home with a twice-a-day sitter may spend long stretches inside, and a bored, lonely dog barking through the fence is hard on everyone nearby. Boarding with daily yard play gives your dog more to do.
Rebuilds and moves
New construction is common in both cities. If you're moving out during a rebuild, staying in temporary housing that doesn't take dogs, or packing up for a move, boarding can keep your dog safe during the most chaotic days. Open doors and work crews make escapes more likely.
What overnight boarding includes
Every guest at Pawliday Inn gets:
- Staff on site 24/7
- Breakfast and dinner
- Three scheduled potty breaks a day, separate from daycare
- Free yard play
- A small, medium or large kennel based on your dog's size
Boarding add-ons include walks, basic baths and extra meals. A basic bath before pick-up means your dog comes home clean.
We encourage you to bring your dog's own food, toys and blankets. Familiar food helps avoid stomach upsets, and familiar smells help at bedtime. Our packing list for dog boarding has the full checklist. For a broader overview, see dog boarding in Houston.
Already a daycare family?
If your dog already comes to us for daycare, the building, staff and yards will feel familiar on their first night. Our page on dog daycare for Bellaire families covers the daytime side.
