Meyerland and Braeswood Place sit along the same stretch of Brays Bayou, and a lot of dogs there know the bayou trail better than their own backyards. But a morning walk only goes so far when your dog is home alone for the rest of a long workday. If you're looking for dog daycare near Meyerland or Braeswood Place, Pawliday Inn is a short drive south on Cedarhurst Dr in southwest Houston. Your dog spends a full day playing and resting with dogs of a similar energy level, and you pick up a tired, happy dog on your way home.
Who uses dog daycare in Meyerland and Braeswood Place
The two neighborhoods are close on a map, but households use daycare for slightly different reasons.
Meyerland: busy households and changing homes
Meyerland has a mix of long-time residents in mid-century ranch homes and families in houses that were raised or rebuilt after repeated flooding. Many households have kids in school, parents with full work schedules, and a dog who is ready to go at 7 a.m. and still ready at 7 p.m.
If your home is still mid-project, or a neighbor's is, daycare also gives your dog a day away from saws, trucks and open gates. That matters for dogs who bark at every noise or slip out when a crew leaves a door open.
Braeswood Place: close to the Medical Center
Braeswood Place sits east of Meyerland, closer to the Texas Medical Center, Rice Village and West University Place. Plenty of residents work in the Medical Center, often on long or shifting schedules. A dog who is fine alone for a short shift can struggle on a twelve-hour day.
If that sounds like your week, our page on dog daycare for Texas Medical Center commuters covers how to plan drop-off and pick-up around hospital shifts.
Working from home with a restless dog
Remote and hybrid work is common on both sides of the bayou. Having you home all day doesn't always tire a dog out. Some dogs get pushier, following you from room to room and barking through video calls. One or two daycare days a week can give both of you a break.
What a day of dog daycare looks like
Daycare at Pawliday Inn is full-day. Here's the basic rhythm:
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. | Check-in |
| Through the day | Outdoor play in yards separated by energy level, with rest time and snack breaks |
| 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. | Check-out |
Our hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday by appointment. A late pick-up fee applies after 6:30 p.m., so if your drive home runs through Medical Center traffic, give yourself a buffer.
Play yards matched to energy level
A young Lab who wants to wrestle all day and an older dog who mostly wants to sniff around shouldn't be in the same yard. We separate play yards by energy level, so each dog plays with others who play the same way.
Rest is part of the day
Good daycare isn't nonstop play. Rest time and snack breaks through the day help dogs reset, which keeps play friendly and helps them go home pleasantly tired instead of wound up.
Optional add-ons
You can add a short walk, an extra meal or an enrichment treat to your dog's day.

Getting started with a free meet and greet
Every dog starts with a free meet and greet. There's no cost. It's a chance for your dog to see the place and for us to get to know them before their first full day. Our guide to your dog's first day of daycare walks through what comes next.
Before your dog joins daycare:
- Vaccines and prevention. Your dog needs current Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations, plus regular flea, tick and intestinal parasite prevention.
- Behavior history. Please tell us about any aggression, fearfulness, resource guarding, separation anxiety, escape tendencies, or prior bites or injuries. That helps us plan your dog's day.
- Health on the day. We may refuse service to dogs who don't meet our requirements or who show signs of illness or a contagious condition.
You can book online, and a card on file is required.

Making daycare part of your week
Most families settle into a pattern, like two or three set days a week, or every weekday during a heavy stretch of work or construction. We offer prepaid day packages for regular visitors and a multi-dog discount for households with more than one dog. Rates change, so see current rates on our homepage.
