A long workday is a long time for a dog to wait by the door. Pawliday Inn offers full-day dog daycare in Houston, on Cedarhurst Dr in the southwest part of the city, so your dog can spend the day playing outside, resting and snacking instead of waiting for you. It all starts with a free meet and greet, and from there your dog's days follow a simple, steady rhythm.
How dog daycare in Houston works at Pawliday Inn
Step one: a free meet and greet
Every daycare dog starts with a meet and greet, and it costs nothing. It is a chance for our team to get to know your dog before their first day, and a good moment for you to ask questions. Have your dog's vaccination records handy, since every daycare dog needs to meet our requirements. If you want to know what the rest of that first visit and first day look like, read your dog's first day of daycare.
Step two: play yards by energy level
Not every dog plays the same way. A young dog who wants to run laps and a calm older dog who likes to sniff around should not have to share the same space all day. Our play yards are separated by energy level, so dogs spend time with others who play at a similar pace.
Step three: a full day with a rhythm
Daycare at Pawliday Inn is full-day. Through the day your dog gets:
- Outdoor play in the yards
- Rest time, so they can recharge instead of running nonstop
- Snack breaks
That mix of play and rest matters. Dogs who play all day without a break can get overtired and cranky. Built-in rest helps them go home happily tired, not frazzled.
Drop off and pick up times
Daycare runs on a set schedule so the day can flow well for every dog.
| Time | |
|---|---|
| Check in | 7 to 10 a.m. |
| Check out | 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. |
The early check in works well for anyone with an early commute, whether you are heading up South Main toward the Texas Medical Center, onto the South Loop, or across town. A late pick up fee applies after 6:30 p.m., so plan your drive home with a little cushion if traffic on your route tends to back up.
Our regular hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm, and Sunday by appointment.
Optional daycare add-ons
If your dog could use a little something extra, you can add:
- A short walk, for a change of scenery during the day
- An extra meal, helpful for dogs who eat on a set schedule or have long days
- An enrichment treat, to give their brain some work as well as their legs
Savings for regulars and multi-dog homes
If your dog comes often, prepaid day packages make it easier to keep coming. Households with more than one dog can take advantage of a multi-dog discount. See current rates on our homepage, where we keep our pricing up to date.
Daycare requirements
To keep the group healthy and safe, every dog needs:
- Current Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations
- Regular flea, tick and intestinal parasite prevention
Our article on the vaccines required for boarding and daycare explains what each vaccine covers and how to get records from your vet.
We may refuse service to any pet that does not meet these requirements or shows signs of illness or a contagious condition. Please also tell us about known behavior like aggression, fearfulness, resource guarding, separation anxiety, escape tendencies, or past bites or injuries. Being upfront helps us set your dog up for a good day.
Booking is online, and a card on file is required. You can read all the details on our policies page.
Pairing daycare with boarding
Many daycare families also use us when they travel. A dog who already knows our building, yards and team often settles in faster for an overnight stay. Learn more about overnight dog boarding, which is staffed 24/7.
